Corps et tyrannie sociale : approche linguistique des discours dans la presse
Abstract
This article analyses the discourses held by the press on the body that
often incite to abide by the society’s informal requirements. Individuals are
convinced to follow diets to fight obesity or to achieve aesthetic norms.
Advertisements for beauty health care are invading every magazine to induce
people, women in particular, to abide these norms. Furthermore, to be at
one’s best, one is encouraged to practise sport. Finally, a very dynamic
public health policy prompts prevent alcohol, tobacco and drug consumption
or to get tested for various illnesses. The analysis of the argumentative plans
developed in all theses discourses on the body, using lexical networks and
enunciative markers allows scaling their influence as well as the significant
place left to the soul culture and to personal fulfilling.
