Donor-Stabilized Silylene/Phosphine-Supported Carbon(0)Center with High Electron Density

Abstract : An isolable donor-stabilized silavinylidene phos-phorane was synthesized. This molecule,w hich can also be regarded as an ew carbon(0) complex featuring ap hosphine and ad onor-stabilized silylene ligand, presents ac entral carbon atom with ar emarkably high electron density (À1.82). Furthermore,t he experimental electron-density study of this compound demonstrates the delocalization of the s-lone pair at the central carbon atom towardt he silicon center,afeature which is remarkably different from electronic situation of other bent-allene-type molecules.This result clearly demonstrates the powerful electron-donating ability of donor-stabilized silylene ligands,a sw ell as their excellent electron-acceptor properties.
