Enseigner dans les enseignements adaptés du second degré : étape ou finalité professionnelle ? : Les "carrières" des hommes et des femmes de l'enseignement général

Abstract : Working with about fifty interviews, the different positions held by general education teachers in secondary special school (EGPA) during their careers are presented, including the precise moments they consider decisive in their professional development and their motivation to teach in the EGPA. These different dimensions are seen in terms of gender. This professional subsector is perpetuated by these teachers : by individual " careers " of " outsiders " depending on gender - maintaining its marginality, quest for relative freedom in teaching - for implementation of active teaching methods more remarkable on the female side - and social commitment - more pronounced on the male side - which, among young teachers, tends to lose its militant nature in the non-professional field.
