Welcome to the HAL-LBCM collection
The research carried out in the laboratory aims to explore, through an integrative approach, the dynamics of biofilm The research carried out in the laboratory aims to explore, through an integrative approach, the dynamics of biofilm with the aim of controlling it through : The development of anti-biofilm surfaces And/or the development of biological control (micro-organisms or marine macro-organisms) and/or the use of original bioactive compounds extracted by innovative processes. The multidisciplinary skills (chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, organism biology, physiology) of our researchers enable them to implement complementary approaches, making the LBCM a modern science laboratory. Three major scientific questions emerge from this research theme : 1. what is the link between surface heterogeneity and surface/microbial cell interactions during biofilm formation ? 2. how is chemical mediation and bioprotection mediated within the holobiont ? 3. What is the link between biofilm and bacterial virulence ? A transversal axis on the biotechnological valorization of the data generated by these three questions will enable us to transfer technologies to society and industry.
