Abstract

Climate change is a phenomenon recognized by the majority of the scientific community. One of its obvious consequences is the rise of global sea level, extreme weather events and the storms frequency and intensity. The current project aims to study the impact of climate change on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, it plans to assess foreseen damages climate change on human security activities related to coasts. This research begins with a statistical of study of the behavior of waves on the coast and gives special attention to the storm surge. Then an interest will be given to wave modeling in order to predict their behavior on coasts. The combined results of the two parts above will allow a good reflection on strategies for adapting to climate change impacts on coasts.
